In the Coppa Shell class, Eric Marston, racing for Ferrari of Westlake, continued to capitalize on Sureel Choksi’s (Ferrari of Denver) misfortunes, a trend carried over from the last round at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca to Race 1 in Montreal.

Choksi, who started on pole, was eager to gain crucial points after missing one of two races at Laguna Seca due to a qualifying incident. However, his hopes were dashed again on Lap 1 in Montreal when he was caught up in a first corner incident, becoming an innocent bystander in the melee.

Starting from second, Marston inherited the lead and secured his third consecutive win of the season. Chuck Whittal (Ferrari of Central Florida), who started sixth in class, charged through the field, overtaking Bruce Cleveland (Ferrari Silicon Valley) late in the race to finish second and third, respectively.
