2001 Ferrari 550 Barchetta Pininfarina
Description
Ferrari Beverly Hills is proud to present this 2001 Ferrari 550 Barchetta Pininfarina, number 174 of only 448 examples produced worldwide, finished in Rosso Corsa over Nero leather, and showing just 7,728 miles. Created to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Pininfarina, the 550 Barchetta was conceived as a limited-production, open-air interpretation of Ferrari’s front-engine V12 grand tourer, combining Pininfarina design with a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V12 and gated six-speed manual transmission.
This example is accompanied by its Ferrari Classiche Certification of Authenticity and Classiche Red Book, providing important factory documentation for a Ferrari of this significance. Its original window sticker is also present and identifies an original MSRP of $259,222, including destination and Gas Guzzler Tax. The original specification includes Rosso Corsa paint, Nero leather upholstery, red brake calipers, roll bar upholstery, and larger racing seats.
Inside, the 550 Barchetta delivers the analog Ferrari experience for which these cars have become increasingly sought after. The Nero cockpit surrounds the driver with extensive carbon-fiber trim, deeply bolstered racing seats, drilled aluminum pedals, and the unmistakable polished metal six-speed gated shifter. A numbered plaque on the center console identifies this particular Barchetta as 174/448, reinforcing the limited-production character of the car.
Unlike a conventional convertible, the 550 Barchetta was deliberately designed around an uncompromising open cockpit. Its low windshield, twin rollover hoops, and Pininfarina bodywork give it a character entirely distinct from the 550 Maranello while retaining Ferrari’s traditional front-engine, rear-wheel-drive architecture and naturally aspirated V12.
Of particular importance to collectors, the car is accompanied by a substantial collection of original documentation and accessories, including its Ferrari Classiche Red Book, original window sticker, books and related materials, and accompanying Barchetta equipment.
