A longtime Ferrari Westlake client, David Lee’s journey through Ferrari’s most significant modern and historic models reaches a defining milestone with the acquisition of a Ferrari 250 GTO.
At Ferrari Westlake, some relationships are forged over years—shaped by trust, shared passion, and a deep respect for Ferrari’s past, present, and future. Our relationship with David Lee is one of those rare stories. Long before this defining moment, David’s journey with Ferrari Westlake has been marked by an unwavering commitment to the marque and an appreciation for automobiles not merely as objects, but as cultural and historical works of art.
Over the years, Ferrari Westlake has had the privilege of guiding David through the acquisition of several of the most significant Ferraris of the modern era, including landmark models such as the LaFerrari Aperta, Daytona SP3, 812 Competizione Aperta, and most recently, the 12Cilindri Spider. Each addition reflects a thoughtful and deliberate curation across generations—blending Ferrari’s racing heritage, limited-production innovation, and timeless design.

That philosophy reached a defining milestone this month when David became the newest custodian of one of the most important Ferraris ever built: the Ferrari 250 GTO. Often referred to as the “Bianco Speciale,” this particular GTO is revered for its originality and documented competition history. Carefully maintained and sympathetically refinished over time—yet never fully restored—it stands as a benchmark for authenticity; an attribute David has consistently valued throughout his collecting journey.
The 250 GTO was announced as the most anticipated cars of the weekend, ultimately achieving a final price of $38.5 million. The result placed it among the most significant public Ferrari auction sales and reaffirmed the car’s enduring stature within automotive history. Reflecting on the acquisition, David shared, “I am proud to be part of Ferrari’s history as the newest custodian of this masterpiece. I look forward to sharing my journey with the 250 GTO.”
For David Lee, the 250 GTO represents not an endpoint, but a continuation of a lifelong relationship with Ferrari—one rooted in passion, discernment, and respect. For Ferrari Westlake, it is a true privilege to have played a role in that journey and to stand alongside a client whose devotion to the Prancing Horse so closely mirrors our own.
