Kurzejewski’s Road to Victory!

The historic Road America circuit in Wisconsin played host to the final Stateside stop of the Ferrari Challenge North America championship, with 60 drivers competing on the 14-turn, 4.048-mile circuit. 

Ferrari Beverly Hills’ Matt Kurzejewski (No. 21) entered the weekend with a 30-point lead in the Trofeo Pirelli cup, with only two competing drivers statistically able to knock Kurzejewski off his top spot, a tall order given his unparalleled five wins this season.

In Saturday’s race and under almost pristine conditions, the fleet of Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo’s hit the track with Kurzejewkski in pole position. The start of the race was smooth sailing for the championship leader, though it wasn’t long until the pressure was on from Onofrio Triarsi (Ferrari of Central Florida) who was hot on closing the gap in the final lap, but Kurzejewski was able to maintain his composure beating Triarsi by a cool 0.504secs.

Sunday’s race was highly contested with Triarsi of Ferrari of Central Florida taking a clean sweep on the day with pole position, fastest lap and the race win, but unsurprisingly Kurzejewski retained his championship standing and securing the Trofeo Pirelli championship, even with the Mugello finals remaining! This marks the sixth consecutive season that Scuderia Corsa has won the Trofeo Pirelli championship, with three different drivers in the last three years.
