Ferrari Beverly Hills is proud to present this historically significant 1969 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 “Daytona”, chassis #12641 — the only known example originally painted Bianco Luna, a rare metallic white created to commemorate the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing. This early-production, first-generation Plexiglass-headlight European-specification Daytona was restored by renowned Ferrari specialists Bacchelli & Villa in Modena and awarded Platinum and Best in Class at the 2022 Cavallino Classic Concorso d’Eleganza. Ferrari Classiche Certified with matching numbers and original colors, this car is supported by a documented ownership history, its original books and toolkit, and comprehensive restoration documentation.
Chassis #12641 is believed to be the 31st Daytona produced, completed in May 1969 and delivered new to Ferrari’s official representative in Caracas, Venezuela, Carlos Kauffmann. Its factory-original color scheme of Bianco Luna over Pelle Beige VM 102 is fully documented in its Ferrari Classiche Red Book, which also confirms the car retains its original engine, gearbox, and differential. In 2021, Bacchelli & Villa undertook a full concours-level restoration, rebuilding all major mechanical systems and refinishing the body in its exact factory colorway. The car was judged under IAC/PFA standards and achieved Platinum Award and Best Daytona Restoration honors at Cavallino Classic Modena 2022. The odometer currently reads 178 miles, reflecting limited use since the completion of the restoration, while the true mileage prior to restoration is unknown.
This is a true European-specification Daytona, delivered new with plexiglass headlight covers — a feature unique to early production models and never offered in the U.S. The car retains its original steel body panels with factory aluminum doors and hoods, and comes complete with its original books and toolkit. The Ferrari Classiche Red Book, issued on January 19, 2022, accompanies the car and confirms the matching-numbers mechanical components and original colors.
With its one-off paint specification, fully documented Ferrari Classiche certification, and award-winning restoration by Bacchelli & Villa, this early Plexiglass Daytona stands as one of the most collectible examples in existence. It presents a rare opportunity to acquire a Daytona that combines historical significance, restoration pedigree, and exceptional originality.
